PRE RACE ANSWERS

How do I enter the race and how much does it cost?

Enter online now for Pulse3K. Entry costs £7. Each race place needs to be completed by a parent or guardian.

Can several children be entered at the same time?

Yes, you can enter several children at once via the registration page, provided they are aged between 11-16 years. You can also enter a school or sport’s club team.

What is the age limit?

The run is open to school years:

  • 11 years old
  • 12 & 13 years old
  • 14 – 16 years old

The minimum age is 11 years and the maximum age is 16 years on Sunday 7th October 2012.

Do I need to be able to run to enter?

No, this run is aimed at young people of all abilities, fast or slow. Those running at a slow jogging place will be fine. Most young people will be able to cover 3km.

Can parents run with their children?

Parents can only run with their child, if their child has special needs. If so, please contact info@pulse3K.com and we will make arrangements with you.

Where can I find advice on pre-race training?

Please visit our training pages to find training advice and download a training plan.

When do I receive my race number and pack?

Your race pack containing your race bib, timing chip and race information will be sent to you approximately 1-2 weeks prior to the race.
If you haven’t received your pack by Friday 28 September, please contact us at info@pulse3K.com

Will I receive a running shirt?

All participants will receive a technical bamboo race shirt at the meeting point before the race. It is a naturally wicking shirt made of bamboo and recycled polyester and we promise it will be very comfortable for you to run in!.

What should I wear?

If it is hot wear shorts, a t-shirt and trainers. If colder, we would recommend leggings or tracksuit bottoms with a t-shirt and trainers. Remember to bring a long-sleeved top for after the race as you will cool down really fast once you have finished

What should I eat before the run?

Eat a healthy breakfast to make sure you have enough energy to run at your best. Porridge or scrambled eggs on toast are both good choices. Most importantly, remember to drink plenty of water

Can I run for a charity?

Yes of course. Any charity would be very appreciative of your fundraising efforts. Choose one of the many charities involved in the Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon here

I’m injured and can’t run, can I have a refund?

Unfortunately we cannot offer any refunds or transfer places to next year. There are a great deal of costs involved in staging an event of this proportion, such as paying for staffing, infrastructure, road closures and medical cover which aren’t recoverable.

Can I pass my place onto someone else?

Unfortunately you CANNOT pass your place onto someone else. Each place in the race is unique and upon registration you will provide medical information and emergency contact details that are specific to you. If you pass on your race number you could be endangering that person as we would have no information on them should there be an accident

How long is the course?

The course is 3k, that’s about 1.8 miles

What’s the course like?

The course is run on the Parks’ tarmac paths and is pretty flat with just a few twists and turns through Hyde Park. It has a great finish stretch, shared with the Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon, where you will be able to see the finish line (and crowds) ahead of you. View the Pulse3K Route Map.

Is the course suitable for wheelchairs?

Unfortunately Pulse3K is unable to accommodate wheelchair users.
